GP Customs & Classics is a specialist automotive studio based under an hour from London Heathrow in Sonning Common. We are a family run business founded on a single principle: doing things properly.
We operate a fully equipped trimming workshop and detailing studio on-site. We do not outsource our quality. From full interior recommissions to final paint correction, every stage of the process is handled in-house by our own team.
Whether it is bringing tired leather back to life or detailing a vehicle for a show, we apply the same rigorous standards of care to every car that enters our workshop.
Specialist Leather Connolising. We specialise in the proper renovation of original automotive leather. This is not a cosmetic "spray and repair" job. It is a skilled restoration process. We chemically strip, feed, and professionally re-colour the original hide to restore its finish and suppleness without losing the character of the interior. It is the authentic alternative to re-trimming for owners who wish to preserve the vehicle’s history.
In-House Trimming. Our dedicated trimming workshop handles everything from seat repairs to complete interior manufacturing. We work with period-correct materials to ensure the fit and finish matches the vehicle’s original specification.
The Detailing Studio. A clinical environment for paint correction, ceramic coating, and deep cleansing. We ensure your vehicle leaves looking better than the day it left the factory.

Painting is often a superficial cover-up that can crack or peel over time. Connolising is a genuine restoration technique originally developed for Connolly hides. We treat the leather to restore its structural integrity before professionally re-finishing the surface colour. This preserves the original leather, which is what many classic owners require for their vehicles.
Yes. We are the craftsmen. Both our trimming workshop and detailing studio are located on-site at our Sonning Common workshop. This means your vehicle remains securely in our care for the entire duration of the work.
Yes. You do not need a full restoration to benefit from our services. We frequently handle specific seat repairs, bolster replacements, or localised leather restoration for drivers' seats that have seen more wear than the rest of the cabin.
